Hand-picked, using Old World winemaking techniques, and seasoned in French oak barrels for almost two years, this premium Merlot is an intoxicating addition to the award-winning Maven Wines range. The result: a vibrant, inky wine with outstanding concentration and an assertive finish. Strong threads of dark red fruit, licorice, chocolate and earth give this wine wonderful complexity, all supported on a firm tannin structure.

Marlborough Looks Forward to Quality Vintage

"Cool conditions during late December in Marlborough have created variable flowering of the region’s flagship variety Sauvignon Blanc.The later ripening areas of the province were most affected when cool southerlies hit just prior to Christmas, resulting in lower than expected fruit set for some. The earlier ripening areas of Marlborough had the opposite scenario, with excellent fruit set, according to Dr Rengasamy Balasubramaniam, (Bala) from Delegat’s Wine Estate.
With quality being the mantra of the 2009 vintage, companies have been working with growers to ensure controlled yields. Some growers have chosen to drop canes to limit the vine’s fruit, while others have been shoot thinning."

Maven '07 Pinot Gris wins Blue-Gold at Sydney Top 100
Our 2007 Pinot Gris has been award a Blue-Gold Award at the 2008 Sydney TOP 100 Wine Awards. This is a very prestigious award and we are estatic with the result.
Blue-Gold Award indicates that the entry, when judged alongside appropriate food, was pointed into approximately the top 10% of the Total Entry and the wine is entitled to display the Competition's trademark "Blue-Gold - Judged with Food" gold-foil bottle medallion.
